Lifespan is comprised of four Licensed Clinical Psychologists, and one Psychological Assistant. Dr. Jane Curtis, Dr. Steve Curtis, Dr. David Shearer, and Dr. Kristi Shearer are licensed Clinical Psychologists in Washington State. Dr. Steve Curtis and Dr. David Shearer are also Licensed Clinical and Certified Prescribing Psychologists in New Mexico. Lifespan also has a Psychological Assistant, Ilana Waite, PsyD, LMHCA. Dr. Waite recently completed the PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) in Clinical Psychology (June 2025). Dr. Waite is completing the full licensing requirements under the supervision of Dr. Steve Curtis. Dr. Jane Curtis and Dr. Steve Curtis have both been granted APIT (Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology) by the PSYPACT Commission. Together we have provided psychological services to the people of Bainbridge Island, the surrounding Puget Sound area, and statewide since 1999. We provide both in-person and telehealth appointments. We have a well-equipped clinic for in-person visits and state-of-the- art equipment for telehealth visits. Dr. Steve Curtis provides psychological and medical management services to individuals in New Mexico. Dr. Shearer is also a prescribing psychologist. However, Dr. Shearer is only providing psychological services at Lifespan for individuals in Washington State.
Lifespan Psychological Services, PS offers psychotherapy, assessment, consultation, and medication management services (New Mexico only). We accept most insurance carriers including Medicare and Medicaid. We will submit the necessary paperwork for insurance reimbursement as a courtesy to you.

Dr. Steve Curtis completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA, his doctorate at Utah State University and completed a predoctoral internship in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He has worked as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 1991 and is currently an Affliate Professor in the PsyD Clinical Psychology Program at Antioch University, Seattle.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience treating adults for over 20 years. My experience is both in the community and in the military health system. I use evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy treatments for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma related issues, pain and other problems that arise in life. I specialize in treating a wide variety of anxiety disorders including panic, generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety and phobias. I sub-specialize in the treatment of health care providers such as physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other health related professions to address problems unique to this population.
